Las Huellas del Pasado

Sigo las huellas de mi pasado

y las veo como diamantes dorados;

huellas que me dejaron valiosas lecciones de vida.

Cada golpe, cada herida, cada fracaso

fue el impulso que me sostuvo,

que me preparó para ser quien soy ahora.

Paseo por los jardines de quien fui

y recojo sus flores más hermosas;

huelo las manzanas rojas del amor que se fue,

y aprendo que amar no fue en vano:

fue un camino hacia una forma más profunda de amor.

Perdono mis errores,

porque también me guiaron hacia la luz.

Todo en mi pasado fue un dulce fruto de aprendizaje:

Lo aplaudo y lo valoro ahora,

 bendiciendo sus lecciones de vida.

The Footprints of the Past

I follow the footprints of my past

and see them as golden diamonds;

footprints that left me with valuable life lessons.

Every blow, every wound, every failure

was the impetus that sustained me,

that prepared me to be who I am now.

I wander through the gardens of who I was

and gather its most beautiful flowers;

I smell the red apples of love that is gone,

and I learn that loving was not in vain:

it was a path toward a deeper form of love.

I forgive my mistakes,

because they also guided me toward the light.

Everything in my past was a sweet fruit of learning:

I applaud it and value it now,

celebrating and blessing its life lessons.
